Art and Architecture

Before becoming a part of Burgundy, our village and the closeest town of St Florentin (4 km), once belonged to the Champagne region. Here, the St Florentin church displays beautiful stained glasses from the Troyes school.
Troyes itself kept a remarquable XVIth century town center.
The statuary in its churches as well as in those which pave the way from Turny to Troyes are from the same century and also offer wonderful stained glasses.
The Chaource church proposes an « entombment » which should not be missed.
Pontigny possesses a XIIth century Cistercian abbey of great majesty.
Finally, the castles in Maulnes, Ancy le Franc, Tanlay and Nuits can testify of the Renaissance-inspired architectural activity in the region.
